I love training in-person clients. Working with a personal trainer has bunch of great benefits, but depending what’s happening in your life, online training might be an even better fit for you right now.
Why online fitness training?
1-Scheduling is a non-issue.
Work out whenever your schedule allows. In the wee hours before the kids wake up? No problem. On your lunch break? No problem. When the weather is bad and you don’t want to get out in it? No problem!
2-Work out wherever you like.
I enjoy the feeling of camaraderie at a gym but the reality is I wouldn’t work out nearly as often if I had to drive to the gym every time. Also, it saves time to workout at home because I don’t have to drive to and fro; for me, that would add nearly an hour every time I worked out! If you prefer a in-person trainer but don’t want to work out at the gym, look for someone who offers an in-home option.
3-No gym-intimidation
Yes, I just said I love the camaraderie of a gym but I also remember when I didn’t know how to use any of the machines, didn’t have a specific plan, and really just had no idea what I was doing. It wasn’t fun. Some people feel more self-conscious about their body at the gym, too. If any of that describes how you feel, don’t let it stop you from getting a good work out at home!
4-It’s cost-effective.
You can hire an online trainer for less than it costs for in-person training. However, you should make sure your online trainer is able to fully explain proper form for exercises, and is available to answer your questions. I use video tutorials and periodically video-chat with clients to check their form, more frequently for those new to exercising or when we add new types of exercises.
5-No childcare costs.
Even at a gym, childcare is usually an additional fee. If you’re a homeschool mom with kids older than preschool-age but too young to leave at home, you can still get in your workout with no babysitting expense.
6-It’s completely personalized for you.
These days, you can find plenty of online fitness classes, and I use them myself sometimes for something like yoga, but even the best online classes can’t be personalized to you. However, a good online trainer will customize a plan for you just as they would do if they were right there in the room coaching you.
My online fitness coaching is now open to new clients! If you’re ready to take charge of your health without fitness and diet rules taking over your life, see what remote coaching with me includes and get started today.
