THURSDAYS at 8AM
In this brand new class, you’ll increase strength, improve your mobility, and get your heart pumping. Workouts will begin on your mat with core-focused work, and will build from there. Adaptations are shown to make this challenging class work for most fitness levels. You’ll need a good exercise mat and a set of dumbbells; bring your own from home or use the ones provided for you. Bring water and a towel, too.
Classes held at Oak Island Recreation Center.
Fees: $5 for residents; $7 for non-residents.
MONDAY & THURSDAY at 9AM
This fun class will help improve your coordination, balance, muscle tone, and cardiovascular fitness. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a small exercise ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. All necessary equipment is provided. We do have chairs for assistance with balance and for stretching at the end of class, but this is a standing workout.
SilverSneakers Circuit is designed for active seniors but open to adults of any age.
